Serving on a team

Serving and volunteering at Trent Vineyard
One of the best ways to feel at home at Trent Vineyard and meet others is to get involved. There's plenty to get involved with. Just in 2014, around 200,000 voluntary hours were given by our church members to serve others. Whatever your personality, skills or talents, there's something for everyone from helping on a Sunday to getting involved with one of the projects we run or have partnered with including The Arches, the Soup Run or Street Pastors.

Serving and volunteering on a Sunday
With three church services every Sunday, there are plenty of teams you can join to help us
make sure everyone feels welcome and that everything runs smoothly. From helping people park their cars, serving tea and coffee, getting all the chairs set up, welcoming people as they arrive
and directing them to a seat to helping with media and sound, Trent Kids and Trent Youth,
there really is a job for everyone.
Loving our city
If you have a heart for serving the people of Nottingham, there are plenty of practical ways
you can get involved.
You can join the Soup Run to give out food and hot drinks to people in need on Friday evenings, many of whom are homeless. You can also head out into the city to offer prayer to passers-by and Saturday morning shoppers.
What about getting involved and helping out at The Arches...
The Arches
The Arches is a practical resource and support centre for those in need across Nottingham.
We aim to provide an environment of compassion and care, where people feel they can
belong and are accepted; where they can build a sense of self-worth and confidence. We
want to be a place where we can be generous with our time, energy and practical resources;
where we can go the extra mile. The Arches provides practical support in the form of furniture, food, household goods and child and baby equipment.

Other partner charities and projects
You can also get involved with one of the local projects we’ve partnered with.
Overseas
We support several ministries which are based overseas.
We partner with individuals and projects in India, Zimbabwe and Japan; a UK-based outreach project to Somalians, and we have connections with a project in Romania which provides a home for children with special needs. We also hold regular prayer meetings for the Middle East and the Persecuted Church.
Our support is demonstrated through prayer, personal involvement and practical help.

Other ways of serving and volunteering
Just like Sundays, there are many ways to serve and get involved at Trent Vineyard during
the week. There’s Trent Kids, Trent Youth, courses and events like Alpha, exploring prayer or our carol service and
many more.
You can also sign up for our Gap Year, Discipleship Year or Discipleship Year Plus, all great ways to get stuck in, serve the church and grow alongside others.
You can find out more about Gap Year, Discipleship Year or Discipleship Year Plus below.
Gap Year
Every year we run our Gap Year for 18 to 20 year olds. Through serving, teaching, studying and lots more, we want to help you be all that you can be, discover more of who God is and His plan for your life, as well as have lots of fun on the way.

ZOE
Discipleship Year (DY) has become ZŌÉ, which means life.
Jesus came to give us life and life to the full. ZŌÉ is a year built in community, designed to help you grow as you seek God, His life and His calling.
ZŌÉ will run from September to July for those in their 20s to 30s. It's a part-time programme, typically three days a week.

Discipleship Year +
Discipleship Year Plus (DY+) is a year of committing yourself to seeking God, serving His church, and being transformed in the process. DY+ is an incredible opportunity to share in a community of people passionately pursuing Jesus, spending time with Him and seeking Him wholeheartedly. The year is tailored towards serving God and His church in a variety of ways and stepping out of your comfort zone. DY+ is a year where people grow by allowing their character and lifestyle to be shaped by God so that who they are after the year will be different to who they were before.
