The Arches

We long for people to meet Jesus and for Him to transform lives

The Arches is a practical resource centre in Nottingham providing furniture, clothing, household items and support to those in need. Our aim is to provide an environment of care, compassion and generosity.

About The Arches

In 2001, Trent Vineyard started The Arches. A row of derelict arches under Abbey Bridge were converted and restored into a place to store and distribute food, clothes, furniture and household goods. After a few years of growth, we moved into a warehouse off Lenton Lane, next to Trent Vineyard.

Since we started, The Arches has become a thriving and vital resource and support centre. With over 200 volunteers, mainly from Trent Vineyard, we’re able to reach out to thousands of vulnerable people. We take referrals from and support over 100 organisations in Nottingham.

We provide practical support

The Arches provides practical support free of charge to visitors who have been referred to us. Our aim is to provide for those in emergency situations and financial hardship. They might have recently been housed with very little, or be fleeing from domestic violence or seeking asylum.

We aim to provide all the essentials to help with the immediate need. We can also provide one-off emergency food parcels when needed.

We develop community

We have a number of additional groups that aim to build and encourage ongoing relationships, not only between our volunteers and visitors, but also among our visitors themselves. These include small groups, women's groups, a family group, coffee lounge and the opportunity to practise conversational English.

We provide ongoing support

The Arches has a number of additional services to offer visitors who wish to engage in ongoing support, helping them back on their feet one step at a time.

We developed The Arches Inspiring Change Programme to empower people, giving them the skills to move on in their lives which could include future employment. We run a furniture restoration programme and also partner with local agencies to host a drug clinic.
