Trent Talk Resources

At times throughout the year we provide specific resources for you to use alongside a Sunday Talk series. At other times you may like to discuss other talks in your Small Group, to give an opportunity for those in your Small Group to journey the topic deeper and apply it to their lives. We have put together this useful discussion resource that can be used generically to help you do this. It can be found here: trentv.org/SGtalkresource

You can find all of the recent Trent Talks on our website here

The Vineyard Person

If you were sitting having coffee with someone and they were to ask you "What is the Vineyard?", what would you say? As new people come towards us, or ask us about the church, it may be helpful to remind ourselves how we might answer this question.

The Vineyard Person is a little tool that is designed to help answer that question.

Hallmarks

As we reflect upon the hallmarks of our church, we recognise that the things that have been noticed about us did not originate with us, they are the fruit of trying to be like Jesus, of copying him, of walking in step with the Spirit. We also recognise that whilst these hallmarks are observably true of us, they are also qualities that we seek in increasing measure as we grow in our discipleship to Jesus. This resource is aimed to support you as you lead your Small Group deeper on this journey. Click here.

Rule of Life

These webinars feature input from Jonny Norridge. Jonny and his wife Meg have been members of Trent for many years, they've been involved in leading small groups and engaged in other ministries. Jonny is an experienced Spiritual Director and is also involved in training and nurturing the formation of new spiritual directors working with 'sustainablefaith'. The term 'Rule of Life' essentially means looking at the way we do life and the people we are becoming. The sessions looked at:

What is a Rule of Life? Why have one? How do we go about engaging with this?

Money

Money is a subject that Jesus talked more about than almost anything else. The only subject he spoke about more was the Kingdom of God. Why? Because money is the number one rival to God for the human heart.

Find below a selection of recourses to dive into the topic.

Who is your master?

This resource is focused around John Wright’s talk from 2022 which you can watch here.

You can access the accompanying resource here.

The Treasure Principle

If you'd like to unpack the topic of money further in your Small Group, we recommend the Treasure Principle Course. Books and workbooks are available from the Small Groups Library. Please email [email protected] to request this resources.

Every Nation Resources

A resource series developed as part of our ongoing heart journey as a church family in responding to the longstanding issue of racial injustice and to press into God’s call to us to be a community where people of every race, nation and culture can thrive.

Devotionals

You might like to engage with one of the Trent devotionals together during a Small Group online gathering.

1. Choose from trentv.org/devotionals

2. Listen to it together - you could use the screen share option on your chosen online platform or take a break to listen individually and then come back to discuss (particularly useful if you have a time limit on your free online account).

3. Have a time where individuals can share back to the group what God is saying to them through it.
